Top Selection of the Day
Digital Photography Tutorial
Photography is going through an exciting and often controversial transition period as many traditional film photographers are beginning to explore the new capabilities made possible with digital cameras. Traditional aspects such as the fundamental techniques and lens equipment have remained the same, however others are markedly different. Photographers using digital equipment now have previously unattainable control over noise levels, dynamic range and color accuracy. This is an exciting time to get involved with photography and digital imaging. Imaging and digital photography software changes routinely, so these tutorials aim to emphasis key concepts over specific step by step procedures. They are also designed to be general enough that nearly any common editing software can be used, unless otherwise stated.

BioScapes 2K5
Olympus BioScapes 2005 Digital Imaging Competition Gallery. "We have created this competition because there is so much dynamic work now being done in research laboratories all over the world," said George Steares, Group Vice President for Scientific Equipment at Olympus. "These fascinating shots will tell important stories that shed light on the living universe around us. We want to know these stories and see these images. The BioScapes photo competition will focus exclusively on digital microscopic images in the life sciences and will allow entries in many formats: images, image series, and movies"

The students of my lab
The students of my lab should study the whole day for their Master Thesis. Sometimes, they take a break for looking at the links of my blog. I can acccept that. Sometimes, they spend a few hours learning new ways to wash a car, or talking about their girlfriends. I can accept that. But some days ago, they sent me by email these three links. This is unacceptable
